Faith and Conservation Connections: What are faith-based groups doing as organizations to make a difference?  How are water and climate going to be a paramount future concern for Utah?  What can we do?

The Water Wise Utah Partnership and the Interfaith Power and Light have joined to host the launch of UtahIPL, an interfaith response to climate change. All people are invited to this event, which will take place at the City Library (210 E. 400 S.) with tables/meet/greet at 6:30 p.m. The formal presentation will begin at 7:00.

Join us for the short film, Greener Buildings, Bluer Skies, which features interviews with Robert Redford and narration by Ted Danson. This program explores the concepts and techniques behind one of the most environmentally efficient buildings in the world, the National Resources Defense Council headquarters in Santa Monica, California.  This is followed with a compelling panel discussion and Q&A session with: Rabbi Fred Wenger (Congregation Kol Ami), Erin Gilmore (Holladay United Church of Christ), Joan Gregory (First Unitarian Church), Lisa Cohne (WaterWiseUtah), Sara Baldwin (Utah Clean Energy), Elaine Emmi (Salt Lake Quakers), and Mark Thomas (USU). This event will include guided tours of the two acre garden, bound to give you plenty of ideas for your own yard. There will also be guided tours of the District’s 46 million gallons per day drinking water treatment plant, a must see. There will be booths from various vendors showing off their garden wares and KSL’s Weather personality, Kevin Eubank, will be on hand to provide insight into the connection between weather and water supply.
